Look at these handsome boys! This sweet Mommas has been blessed with four incredible boys in her life, 3 sons and her hubby. Don’t they just look like the funnest family. One thing I love about family photography is you never know what the session is going to bring. I can tell you that there is a difference between families with littles younger than 7, or even a family that has a one teen. One of the biggest differences I tend to see if the difference between boys and girls.
Here area few tips and tricks I’ve learned working with young boys:
Boys will be Boys…they are not going to hold still every minute of the session. That it totally expected and I’m prepared for it! So I let them wiggle, run around if needed, jump and play. I would much rather have a happy, silly, laughing, crazy little boy than an upset, angry or sad one. Littles tend to listen to a stranger more than they do their parents. Let me guild the session and don’t get upset if they aren’t doing exactly what you were wishing for. We will get amazing photos even if they need to get out a little energy.
Momma I want you to look at the camera instead of focusing on your boys. It will make it easier to get the perfect snap shot if I can get them to look at me. That way the moment they turn, I’ve got it. I know it goes against every instinct but it makes for great pictures. Even if someone isn’t looking, we are still guaranteed to capture memories of your boys. We want photos taken of their current stage and personalities because those memories are worth holding on too.
