Extended Family Sessions are the BEST! I know not everyone will agree with me but from a photographers perspective they are one of my favorite sessions to shoot. I love getting to see the whole family together and witness all the love that is shared. This beautiful family didn’t disappoint and we had a lot of fun capturing each important piece of who they are. Extended family sessions also provides the opportunity for your own small family mini photo shoot too. Its hitting two birds with one stone. You not only get to capture everyone together, which is what Grandma is truly hoping for, but you also get to have photos of your own family so you don’t have to schedule your own individual session later. Its a win win for everyone!
If your extended family doesn’t live close together. Pick a date around a holiday, family reunion, or birthday when you know everyone will be together from out of town. That way when you schedule your extended family photos you know its a date that everyone will be able to attend. If its a popular time of the year I highly suggest scheduling far enough in advance to make sure that you are able to grab a time slot in my ever busy schedule. :0) And it allows for ample time for everyone to put it in their calendars, coordinate color schemes, and building enough excitement that you just can’t wait to get your pictures done.
