Who could resist shooting in a field full of cows? This beautiful southern Utah family session turned out so good and Simply Shelby by Jana had the cutest family to work with. The cows were unpaid extras, but they added another fun element to the whole shoot. These two little girlies were so stinking cute for their session. It can get really tricky sometimes taking pictures with the littles. They have a mind of their own and don’t necessarily always want to cooperate. But I’ve found over the years that planning sessions around naps, having snacks or treats to bribe them with (non-messy ones), and honestly following their lead is some of the best advice I can give to families with younger kiddos. If they are nervous or not feeling it, let them walk around while we shoot a sibling or mom and dad, let them find a spot where they are comfortable and take pictures from there instead. There’s lots of ways to accommodate our younger friends who might need a little extra support or motivation when it comes to taking family pictures.
