Fall + Sunflowers + Family I mean come on! I love finding different locations that not everyone typically thinks of using for family pictures. This sunflower field was the perfect backdrop. It had fun colors, my favorite “glowy light” and the best clients a girl could ask for. The kiddos were so patient and great as we walked around and got to play in the sunflowers.

A common question I get asked is “What do we need to bring to our session?”  For the most part I always defer to you sweet mommas. You know your kiddos better than anyone in the world. You also have your own tips and tricks to keep those babies happy and interested. But if you’re still looking for a couple ideas here are a few of my favorites:

        • Any personal touchup items you might want to help you look  and feel your best-a brush, lip gloss, hairspray, or touch ups for makeup
        • Extra layers of clothes if needed. Sometimes the weather shifts on us and an added sweater or jacket might help keep everyone happy. Having an extra little something for everyone that coordinates with your outfits can really come in handy.
        • Snacks, snacks, and more snacks….did I mention snacks? Or if necessary a trusted go to treat if bribery is needed :0)                                (However, it’s best not to tell kids about the treats before the session; wait until the kids start getting fidgety before you pull the candy card! They’ll usually perk right up then!)
        • Walkable Shoes. There is a chance we’ll be walking a short distance on a trial or rocky path, or up hill at times. But if your dyeing to wear your favorite wedges or heels, bring them with you! You can always change into them right before we start shooting.
        • I love to let your kids play and interact with the canvas were shooting in. That might included some water, dirt, snow, or mud. Some families would rather not have that in their cars. (I totally get it, I’m not a mess lover myself.) So a change of clothes can always be an added extra if that’s a concern you might have.
